Certification Programs


WSET Level 1 Award in Wines


For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. Students explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make basic food and wine pairings. Upon successful completion, students receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wine

 

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. Students gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, students explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence. Upon successful completion, students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

Regionally Accredited Programs

Australian Wine Foundations

Foundations of Australian Wine is a program developed by Australia’s governmental agency, Wine Australia. The program encompasses information on Australia’s wine market, history, climates and geography. Participants will taste their way through Australia’s prominent regional wines and grape varietals throughout the program.

Bourgogne Masterclass

The Bourgogne Masterclass is a program developed by the official Vins de Bourgogne organization. Participants will be given the opportunity to taste red and white wines from Regional level up to Grand Cru as they learn about history, terroir, viticulture, winemaking, market, classifications and the appellations that make the Bourgogne wine region so exceptional.

Champagne

The Champagne masterclass is a program developed by the trade association that represents the interests of independent Champagne producers and Champagne Houses, Comite Champagne. Participants of the Champagne Wines masterclass will learn about the history, appellations, terroir, viticulture, winemaking, and market as they taste their way through various styles, regions and varietals of Champagne.

German Wine Academy

The German Wine Academy is an advanced level program developed by the official Wines of Germany organization. Participants will learn about Germany’s wine regions, history, geography, climate, winemaking, market and law as they taste their way through the traditional German wine varietals Riesling, Muller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder, Silvaner, Spatburgunder, Dornfelder, and Blaufrankish as well as various styles of sekts.

In-House Programs

In addition to the certification and regionally accredited programs, the following workshops are offered customized for beverage industry employees and clientele, country clubs and private groups; Wine Tasting 101, Wine & Food Pairing 101, Decoding French Wine, Decoding Italian Wine, Decoding Spanish Wine and Godforsaken Grapes.
